Crown Heights residents spoke out at a CB9 meeting against the planned protected bike lanes on Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues, citing dangers for children, elders, and disabled neighbors. Nearly 1,000 petition signatures have already been gathered, and the DOT has placed the project on pause pending further feedback.

Heavy Rain Causes Road Warping on Kingston Ave — Crews Respond Swiftly
Due to yesterday’s downpour, the packed dirt beneath temporary asphalt on Kingston Avenue shifted, causing surface warping. Baruch Hashem, no one was hurt. Crews are already on-site repairing the issue, but full closures are in effect from Eastern Parkway through President, including Union.

Kingston Avenue Construction Update #3
Construction on Kingston Ave between Eastern Pkwy and Union is complete. The city has also posted a detour sign on Carroll Street, easing traffic buildup on President. Additional alley closures between President and Union begin July 26.

Kingston Avenue Construction Update #2
Work at the intersection of Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway has been completed for now and will remain open through Tishrei. Please note: the intersection of Kingston and Union Street will be closed during daytime hours for ongoing construction over the next few days, with completion expected by Monday.

Crown Heights Beis Din Hosts Welcome Reception for Visiting Rabbonim
A warm and dignified Bruchim Haboim was held on Erev Shavuos, 5 Sivan 5785, at the Eshel Hotel for a group of rabbonim who came to spend time near the Rebbe. Arranged by the Vaad Hakohol on behalf of the Beis Din Tzedek of Crown Heights, the event brought together rabbonim from around the world in a spirit of achdus, kavod haTorah, and heartfelt connection.
