CHK Kashrus Advisory for Chanukah Donuts

As Chanukah approaches, the Vaad HaKashrus of Crown Heights (CHK) reminds the community to exercise care regarding the kashrus of donuts.

It’s important to ensure that vendors have proper on site supervision. While some use certain kashrus leniencies regarding donuts, those wishing to avoid reliance on such leniencies should only purchase donuts from establishments that are makpid on full Bishul Yisroel and Pas Yisroel (for cake donuts) under proper rabbinic supervision.

Additionally, donuts often contain multiple ingredients that require proper supervision.

Note: Donuts made in dairy or meat establishments should be assumed to have the status of that establishment unless stated otherwise.
